Curcumin is spice from India. In ambient light conditions, curcumin nanoparticles are not cytotoxic. Blue light irradiated curcumin nanoparticles kill cancer cells.

Curcumin is natural product used for food more than 2000 years. Very few studies have shown that it is optically active substance. Irradiation by high power low cost LED induces phototoxicity.
