What is it about?

This is a study of 113 Infants who underwent cataract surgery with hydrophobic acrylic or PMMA IOL implantation in first year of life. Author compared the various complication rate and additional surgical interventions.

Why is it important?

This is a very interesting study of large number of patients of less than one year of age. We found comparable complication rate between hydrophobic acrylic and PMMA IOL, but earlier additional surgical intervention for patients with PMMA IOL implantation.
