This is an evaluation of mental health of ethnic Chinese migrants living in Brazil.

Why is it important?

We found that Chinese migrants manifest somatic, depressive and worry symptoms, similar in China. The psychopathologies resemble to descriptions of neurasthenia.

Perspectives

This is a very unique psychometric assessment of common mental disorders among Chinese individuals living in Brazil. The respondents (n = 211) were assessed through the Chinese Health Questionnaire (CHQ-12) and a structured Schedule for Clinical Assessment in Neuropsychiatry (SCAN).
