What is it about?

This assay allows to rapidly screen many samples for lipoxygenase activity. Can be used for to analyse mutant proteins obtained by site-directed mutagenesis or directed evolution.

Why is it important?

Allows to rapidly screen the substrate specificity of lipoxygenase variants.

Perspectives

Will stimulate the use of microbial lipoxygenases for the production of industrially relevant chemicals.
