What is it about?
It is about the solution of the non-Fourier dual-phase-lag bioheat transfer equation and the evaluation of thermal damage from the analytical expression of the temperature distribution in biological tissue.

Why is it important?
In some mediums like biological ones, which are internally hetrogeneous, the well-known Fourier heat transfer constituation leads to inaccurate results for the temperature distribution during thermal therapy. Therefore, precise evaluation of the temperature, which is necessary for the treatment, could be achieved employing a non-Fourier models and among them the dual-phase-lag model shows better agreement with experiments.
