What is it about?
In this study, we look at whether the disclosure of a firm's socially responsible actions is financially worth the effort. Do people care about being socially responsible?

Why is it important?
Firms do use resources to become more socially responsible. This can take many forms such as reducing packaging, paying all their employees, etc. It is critical that they see some sort of benefit to encourage them to continue. We look to see if there is a benefit to the firm.
Perspectives
Most individuals would like firms to be better citizens. However, there is a group, shareholders, who may not be interested in reducing their returns. This line of research is critical to offer some evidence that they are not the only ones paying for a sustainable future.
