What is it about?

Steady axisymmetric deformations of a liquid sessile drop on a flat solid surface under an impinging gas jet

Featured Image

Why is it important?

It is a simplified model for understanding the behavior of deposited liquid materials on substrate during Aerosol Jet(R) direct-write printing as well as spray coating, etc.

Perspectives

Based on this study and insight gained therefrom, I have been able to derive process parameter windows for and relationship among liquid material deposition rate, gas jet Reynolds number, liquid surface tension, etc. for Aerosol Jet(R) process development.
