What is it about?

This paper presents an analysis of stochastic models of measurements in quantum mechanics. It contains an explanation of how the so-called ETH-Approach to Quantum Mechanics motivates the analysis of those models.

Why is it important?

The paper is a contribution to the foundations of Quantum Mechanics.

Perspectives

For the past twelve years, one of my main scientific interests has been to understand how to complete text-book Quantum Mechanics to a theory that solves the so-called measurement problem and the information paradox. This paper can be viewed as a little step in this direction. More substantial steps are contained in other publications of the senior author in collaboration with various younger colleagues.
