What is it about?

Noradrenaline (NA) is one of the neurotransmitter which is evolved in early in gestation along with REM sleep. REM sleep protects bodily functions and acts as a rehearsal for awake type of situation during rest and set the bodily functions. Deviation from the pattern leads to abnormalities and pathophysiological disturbances and elevated NA is one such factors for such problems. It also become a trigger for other ageing factors and help in progression of ageing in different ways. In this chapter we tried to correlate REM sleep associated NA and its impacts on ageing using different perspective.

Why is it important?

It will help in amelioration of ageing associated abnormalities and intervention in sleep therapies.

Perspectives

In our opinion there is need to understand the basic basal activities of brain which resides in brain stem. Sleep is one such factors and set point for various physiological functions. Deviation of sleep switching leads to disturbances in body and alteration in physiological patterns. How to make them in a proper manner for healthy living is a key agenda for current research. Noradrenaline is an important hub for REM sleep regulation and function. It is elevated during REM sleep deprivation and a causative factors for various patho-physiological functions. REM sleep deprivation may be a trigger factor for increase in pace of ageing in association with NA is our point for this article
