Why is it important?
As BPMN functionality for risk modeling is very limited, even basic risk-oriented framework required introducing custom modeling categories, i.e. RiskFactors, RiskTypes, RiskHandlers as well as RiskMitigationMethods. Owing to the consistent practice of publishing meta-models for standards maintained by Object Management Group, the categories were seamlessly integrated with BPMN meta-model and designed so that the subsequent expansion was possible. Practical applications of proposed extension were exemplified.
