What is it about?

The book includes results of mathematical modeling of energetic efficiency of biofuel production systems. Each production system needs Energy to facilitate conversion of substrates onto products. In the case of biofuel production it is important that input of Energy to the system does not exceed the output of Energy given to the society. Mathematical modeling and computer simulation enables estimation of the quality of production system, as measured by the ratio of output to the input of Energy in all operations being performed.

Why is it important?

The cases when the sum of inputs of Energy to the production system would exceed the output give just losses of Energy. So such cases should be avoided.
