Why is it important?
Despite several contributions in humanitarian literature, their impacts on progress in the field is unclear. Therefore, it is important to find out what gaps exist between research and practice and to suggest clear future research directions.
Perspectives
This paper is the result of four months reviewing a wide range of conference and journal papers in humanitarian literature. We discuss literature gaps from two different perspectives, business engineering and operations research, and suggest research directions with respect to each perspectives.
