What is it about?

A bridge is a structure built over a river, etc. to connect one shore to another. The simplest bridge is a beam bridge. Other bridge types include truss, arch, and suspension. A truss bridge uses a series of triangles (trusses) for support. This activity provides an opportunity to design, make, and test your own bridges.

Why is it important?

What type of bridge will you design and build to hold as many washers as possible? Students solve the problem and could enhance their creativity. It is a hands-on activity for STEM education.
