What is it about?
This chapter paper describes a simple hands on activity for airplane engineering. The problem to be solved is this: Paper airplanes (of the same style and patter) will be prepared using thick paper and the paper. Will the paper airplane made out of thick paper fly a greater distance than one made of thin paper?

Why is it important?
The airplane, which is truly amazing, was invented in 1903 by the Wright brothers. It has been used as a sport or hobby, for having pilots do various tricks and stunts to entertain audiences, for fighting wars, and for transporting mail (air mail) and cargo. Today airplane's serve as "buses with wigs" that transport people to various locations throughout the world. This activity provides and opportunity to design, make, and test your own airplanes.
Perspectives
Using this activity, teachers can enhance students' creativity, design engineering capability and team skills to solve some problems together. Particularly, you can prepare just papers for the paper airplanes, so that students could tackle with the problems. You don't have to pay so much at the preparations stage, but you can expect the educational outcome very much.
