What is it about?
The authors describe various approaches to the Jacobian Conjecture and related questions, including, among others, the following approaches: (1) using the language of algebras (associated to polynomial mappings) and their identities, (2) using the language of varieties of algebras of universal algebra. The paper is dedicated to the deceased mathematician A. V. Yagzhev, who initiated such studies. {For the collection containing this paper see MR3229341.} Reviewed by Tadeusz Krasiński
