What is it about?

With the emergence of new technologies and trends, the habits of people and how they are dealing with these technologies has changed. Social Network Sites (SNS) have become a big part of most people’s daily life. It is important to understand the factors that contribute to self-disclosure on SNS. A dramatic shift has been noticed concerning user privacy, where people’s tendency to disclose information has been increasing. The disclosure of personal information can be very dangerous. This research-in progress aims to propose a conceptual framework that considers the inhibitors and enablers of self-disclosure on SNS. The conceptual framework will be tested via a large-scale survey of teens, students, employees and others.
