What is it about?
The research examined four aspects of students' readiness: their knowledge and learning skills, motivation, ability to use digital technologies, and capacity to reflect on and improve their own learning. Using surveys, questionnaires, interviews, and observations, the study investigated students' experiences with distance learning. The findings show that distance learning creates both opportunities and challenges.

Why is it important?
Distance learning has become a permanent component of higher education, making it essential to understand how prepared students are to succeed in online environments. This study is timely because it examines student readiness from multiple perspectives, including technological, cognitive, motivational, and reflective dimensions, rather than focusing solely on digital skills.
Perspectives
In my view, distance learning should not be seen simply as an emergency solution or a replacement for face-to-face education. Instead, it offers opportunities to make learning more flexible, accessible, and personalized when it is thoughtfully designed. I hope this publication encourages educators to pay equal attention to the technological, pedagogical, and psychological aspects of online education. Supporting students in all of these areas will help create more effective and engaging learning experiences, whether courses are delivered fully online, in person, or through blended learning.
