What is it about?
Detection of MCI and AD by means of the Modular Hybrid Growing Neural Gas (MYGNG), a variant of the GNG. Using neuropsychological scales, MYGNG was as good as some Deep Learning approaches that utilized neuroimaging data (same database, ADNI, and classification task, MCI-AD).

Why is it important?
Neuropsychological scales are easy to use, almost not invasive and not expensive. Combined with a fast training neural computation method as is the MYGNG, lower costs and more patients can be studied.
