What is it about?

The article presents a case study about the application of a strategic planning process in academic management, specifically to the undergraduate course in Information Systems from Federal University of Alagoas (Brazil), using the expertise of the structuring teaching core to develop the process.

Before the use of any kind of teaching methodology and tool, it is necessary to define a strategic plan for the teaching-learning process, ensuring an appropriate environmente for teachers and students, besides guiding the course for excellence.

Perspectives

The authors hope that the work can provide a basis both on the theory of academic strategic planning and on demonstrating the process that has been applied in helping those interested in structuring their own strategic planning processes within the academy.
