What is it about?

This book chapter is based on an invited opening keynote at a symposium that took place at the TU Braunschweig, Germany, on Dec 17-18, 2019. The symposium marks the final phase of a 9 year research sponsored by the European Union in the areas of flow control, aeroacoustic and flight dynamics for aircraft with active high lift. This article focuses on unconventional flow control techniques and applications, and it includes fluidic flow control as well as morphing structures.
