Why is it important?

Environmental issues regarding food packaging is a hot topic, since the unrecycled food packaging waste mountains are inevitable witness of the problem. Therefore scientists are working on continual development and improvement of biobased alternatives. This chapter provides an insight for production of biopolymers and elaborating their functional properties.
