Why is it important?

The mouth is home to over 700 different types of bacteria. For too long it has only been studied to understand dental disease, while the effects oral bacteria and other microbes have on health throughout the body were ignored. This book is focused on methods used to study microbes of the mouth.

Perspectives

There is much that is known about how gut bacteria and other microbes affect our health. This book will make it easy to learn new methods tailored to study oral bacteria, fungus and virus.
