What is it about?
Meaning making is cognitive systems including machines can be understood in terms of the generation of conceptual relations rather than strings of symbols. This is what Relational Automata, a novel form of automata, do. This helps capture the striking common ground between human linguistic intelligence and current AI.

Perspectives
Automata theory in current computing science does not take into account meaning. This has to be changed. The current article shows a path towards this goal.
