Why is it important?
Treatment failure is a patient-important outcome in cellulitis studies. A uniform definition is critical in order to better compare and contrast studies in the future.
Perspectives
This article sets a foundation for a patient-important outcome in cellulitis studies: treatment failure. In our review, we found that treatment failure was inconsistently defined, making it difficult to compare studies. It is critically important to develop a uniform treatment failure definition for future studies.
