What is it about?
The study is about presenting new uphole data sets acquired in sand dunes located in the Empty Quarter (Rub’ Al-Khali) Desert in southeastern Saudi Arabia and comparing the velocity-depth functions of constant-velocity, Al-Shuhail, and Liner by fitting them to these data sets in addition to the sand curve data set.

Why is it important?
The information obtained from the study could be used to generate a more accurate statics model which could be applied to the seismic data to remove the effects of the weathered zone
