What is it about?

Determine the metal contaminations and natural radionuclides hazards of the various soil types in the Bahariya Oasis.

Why is it important?

The cultivated and evaporites-rich uncultivated Bahariya soils are invariably more polluted with metals and radioactive hazards than the other uncultivated soils. Metal and radionuclide distributions in the Bahariya soils are controlled by several factors, including the nature of parent rocks, effects of saline near-surface groundwater, and agriculture practices. The dendogram for R-mode cluster analysis, Pearson correlation coefficient matrices data, and SD of metal concentrations indicate both lithogenic and anthropogenic origin of the soil components.
