Why is it important?
One of the reason to abandon the NSAID therapy may be the incidence of enteropathy due to these medicines. This review article focus on the reasons for the side effect and suggests some possible remedies.
Perspectives
A deep study of the of the pathophysiological origin of the intestinal lesions due to the use of NSAIDs helps in finding the solution to the problem. It seems that the presence of microbiota in the intestine, and the use of specific probiotics might help.
