What is it about?

This paper explains how to determine the feedback force gain of master-slave type ultrasound scanning robot using genetic algorithm.

Why is it important?

If the feedback gain is too high, the user would perceive the feedback force more vividly. However, the scanning would be more force-exerting. If the feedback gain is too low, the user would not perceive the feedback force vividly, while the scanning is less force-exerting. Therefore, it is important to determine the feedback force adequately in master-slave type robot system.

Perspectives

The gain determining procedure in the paper explains the details and summaries. It can be used any master-slave type robotic system feedback force gain determination.
