What is it about?

This study focuses on data accumulated on a large and diverse collection of cacao germplasm and presents information on the superior genotypes identified, with emphasis on Trinitario cacao, in terms of yield potential and other traits of interest to breeders to facilitate improvement of cacao planting material.

This will facilitate improved productivity and production in cacao to the benefit of cocoa farmers.

Perspectives

The results presented are of value to cocoa breeders, particularly those interested in improving fine or flavour cocoa varieties in terms of yield potential, seed size and other traits of interest.
