Product Development and Design: A Bicycle Stand Case Study

What is it about?

Abstract: Main goal of this paper is to present the methodology for product development and design. A bicycle stand product is chosen as a case study. Presented methodology is a process with several steps which include definition of problem, generating several concept designs, analysis of generated designs, choosing the best concept design, development of virtual prototype and development of real prototype. Presented methodology can be used for development and design of any product. Process of development of virtual and real prototype is presented in more detail. Virtual prototype is developed using advanced computer aided design technologies. Real prototype is developed and manufactured using advanced additive manufacturing technology.
