What is it about?

We quantify the effects of climate change on the surface wind speed field over the Iberian Peninsula and Balearic Islands using an ensemble of four Regional Climate Models driven by a global climate model. To this end we used K-means algorithm and developed a criterion to obtein the optimun number of clusters.

Why is it important?

We divided Iberian Peninsula into regions with the same behaviour from a wind speed poiw of view, developing a new criterion to obtain the optimum number of cluster for the K-means algorithm, and studied the evolution of the wind speed in the first part of the XXI century, obtaning a genarl reduction less than 3%
