What is it about?
The paper reviews the technological development and applications of water reuse such as rainwater harvesting and greywater recycling at small scales such as households and local residential areas. It also provide a framework how the technologies can be used and fitted with various applications in the world.

Why is it important?
Due to the limited water resources and climate change and increased course of droughts, it is important that water is captured in the first place, reused and recycled by customers in the first place. As this is a new practice and relatively uncommon for people and due to the financial and technical issues, the applications and dissemination of these schemes may be challenging and the public acceptance should be increased by proper awareness schemes and promotions of timely technologies commensurate with the relevant communities. Hence, it is important that public is aware of latest technological developments and applications of these schemes around the world
Perspectives
application and technological development of water reuse schemes are rapidly taken up by various communities and it is expected that in the next decades, most of the people are fully aware of the importance and value of these schemes. The relevant organising bodies and authorities will have to face these schemes soon or later but those who are pioneer in this field can take advantage to provide better livelihood for the communities and households.
