What is it about?
This study has compared fetal biometric measurements in isolated and non-isolated cases with a congenital heart defect to study the effect of additional pathology on (head) growth in these fetuses. Our results show that placenta-related pathology and genetic syndromes appear to be more important attributors to the impaired (head) growth, encountered in these fetuses, than the effect of alterations in fetal hemodynamics caused by the CHD itself.
