What is it about?

IOTA three-step strategy has a high diagnostic accuracy for the classification of adnexal masses in benign or malignant when it is used by non-expert sonographers. We validate this system to demonstrate that it can be used in routine clinical practice in the ultrasound diagnosis of ovarian cáncer. We also retrospectively assess an alternative strategy applying as a second step Simple Rules Risk. The results of this new strategy also present good diagnostic performance by decreasing the number of surgical interventions and increasing the sensitivity of the original strategy.
