What is it about?
Scar defects ("niches") after a caesarean section can be visualized as a translucency by using ultrasound. They are associated with gynecological symptoms and possibly with obstetric complications. Currently, various definitions of a niche are used in niche studies and there is no uniform method of niche evaluation available. We performed a modified Delphi procedure amongst European experts and developed a guideline for detailed niche evaluation in non-pregnant women.
