What is it about?
Neurological diseases and injuries pose a great threat to human health and cause a huge financial burden, so exploring new effective treatment is in urgent need. Our review summarized the recent findings regarding the application of orofacial mesenchymal stromal cells in the treatment of neurological diseases and injuries.

Why is it important?
Neurological diseases and injuries are usually chronic and hard to cure. Stromal cell therapy represents a novel method to treat those diseases. Orofacial mesenchymal stromal cells (OFMSCs) are easy to isolate and possess high proliferation ability. They can also differentiate into different types of neural cells and generate large amount of neurotrophic factors, which can be used to treat many neurological diseases and injuries. In short, OFMSCs represent a promising treatment strategy for neurological diseases and injuries.
