What is it about?

The objective of this investigation is to analyze the mathematical model of Bessel beamformer with automatic gain control (AGC) in a multipath scenario using digital modulation technique and comparison is made with Bessel beamformer without AGC [1]. Bessel beamformer with AGC is supposed to be known as modified Bessel beamformer. The desired user and interferers are operating with same carrier frequency and Doppler shifts but in different directions. Based on simulation results, this modified Bessel beamformer provides optimum solution and can accommodate more users in real time base stations of mobile communication system when implemented on smart antenna array system.

Why is it important?

we proposed modified Bessel beamformer based on the variable step size which depends on the signal array vector and simulated in Rayleigh fading channel model using digital modulation technique. This modified Bessel beamformer is used for automatic adjustment of the tap weights of the filter according to the computed error estimation.

Perspectives

This technology may provide cost effective solution for wireless cellular communication companies if this breakthrough design may apply at BTS for enhancing range, provide quality & secure signal and increase capacity of system with aforesaid benefits.
