What is it about?

Asymmetric dimethylarginine, symmetric dimethylarginine and homocysteine are considered as biomarkers of cardiovascular diseases. We have developed a simple HPLC method to determine the levels of these biomarkers in blood. The quantification of the amino acids in plasma and serum can be done by rapid sample preparation and analysis.

Why is it important?

Our method offers the analysis of three biomarkers together in short period of time. Avoiding the use of expensive ELISA kits, this method is an economic alternative for the routine analysis of blood samples.
