What is it about?
Ensuring security and privacy for IoT devices can be complicated and very challenging due to finite energy and resource-constrained nature of many of these devices. This paper performs an extensive survey of recent work on the subject.

Why is it important?
We describe 9 different IoT application domains and used them to organize the work. In addition, we discuss in details security requirements, system models, and threat models as well as protocols and technologies for the 9 application domains. We also highlight some open research issues in IoT security.
Perspectives
It was a pleasure writing this article, and we hope researchers in this area will find the paper helpful as they pursue their respective research activities.
