What is it about?
Isolation is an important property in virtualization system. in fact it is a new vulnerability, which comes with virtualized systems, because if an attacker takes control of one virtual machine she might be able to take control of all other virtual machines or the host. we wanted to quantitatively evaluate this kind of scenario, so we specified isolation in Xen and analysed it probabilistically.

Why is it important?
Our findings show that for improving security of isolation which layer (application, guest os, hypervisor) in a virtualized system is more sensitive to decreasing attacker ability to be successful and increasing defensive strength to be successful as two parameters. this is important because inventing new defensive mechanism or policy could be very costly and we want it to be effective. now we can concentrate on the most effective area in a virtualized system for improving security of isolation.
