What is it about?

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of different home bleaching agents on three nano-hybrid, a microhybrid and an ormocer based resin composites by analyzing roughness changes using profilometer and scanning electron microscope (SEM).

Why is it important?

Composite restorations should be controlled and patients should be informed that restorations may need polishing or replacing after bleaching treatment. Polishing or replacing can be recommended especially for nanohybrid composite resins after home bleaching application to overcome the problems such as plaque adhesion and staining caused by the rough surfaces.
