What is it about?
Estimators are mathematical formulations helping to estimate variables that usually are not measured by a physical device (sensor). These estimators use a mathematical model accounting for the phenomena of interest and some available measurements. In this case, we formulate a state estimator able to cope with uncertainties in the model and also able to integrate constraints over the main variables which make its use closer to real needs.

Perspectives
These type of tools are extremely helpful to make complex engineering systems work in a proper way. The applications range from chemical and biochemical plants to undermanned vehicles, robots, and biomedical devices such as the artificial pancreas.
