What is it about?

This wok is about extracting more qualitative information from MALDI Q-TOF CID spectra of complex oligosaccharide mixtures, including isobaric precursor ion mixtures. The data analysis is based on product ion intensities, recognition of specific MS/MS patterns for various oligosaccharide structure types, and utilizing them for extraction of qualitative information. This study was performed on human milk oligosaccharides.

Why is it important?

MS/MS analysis of glycomic data is very complex. Here we show that pattern recognition can significantly help analysis of complex MS/MS sepctra of oligosaccharides.

Perspectives

This method can be applied to obtain quantitative and semiquantitative from glycomic MS/MS data as well.
