How finely do we need to represent the stratocumulus radiative effect?

What is it about?

Turbulence in the stratocumulus-topped boundary layer is powered mostly by radiative cooling at the top of the cloud. This work investigate how concentrated this cooling has to be to maintian stratocumulus clouds.
