What is it about?

Regulatory data protection of required studies by government regulators so that some form of compensation is payable to the data originator

Why is it important?

Required regulatory studies cost a lot of time and money and require adequate protection but not so much that generic products suffer from delayed market entry

Perspectives

I have worked for R&D and generic companies and it is important that the right balance is struck between protecting regulatory studies and allowing access by financial compensation to allow a healthy market of novel and generic plant protection products to flourish.
