What is it about?

At recommended field doses, fipronil, dinotefuran, spinetoram, tolfenpyrad and abamectin induced nearly 100% adult mortality within 24 h of exposure to treated cotton leaves by comparison with controls. Acetamiprid was also toxic, but significantly less so than the former materials. The other pesticides had no significant toxic effects.Only glufosinate ammoniumexhibited increased toxicity among the non-toxic materials when increased two- or fourfold over recommended rates. Theforaging behavior of parasitoids was affected only by tolfenpyrad among thematerials tested.

Why is it important?

The current studies are helpful for more successful integration of chemical and biological control of lepidopteran pest using Trichogramma as biological control agent in agroecosystem.

Perspectives

I have worked hard in the entomology laboratory in University of Georgia, Tifton, USA during 2012 and produced the articals under the supervision of Dr. john R Ruberson. I thing this is one of the unique research, and is valuable source of knowledge for successful IPM.
