Why is it important?
Mass trapping is a tactic that can be used against insects - reducing the need for broadcast insecticides. However, not all lures will be suitable, and the range of attraction is key information to decide trap spacings.
Perspectives
The insights we reported here seem to work in some systems at least. Here we tested four insect orders - the only failure was a kairomone against thrips.
