What is it about?

Analysis of the mechanical and thermal of behavior of composite films based on cassava starch and kaolinite in relation to the starch-akolinite interactions is attempted is this work. It is shown that strong filler matrix interactions, that obviouly result in enhance mechanical resistance, does not occur in this composite. Weak to medium interactions are more likely to be the cause of the observed mechanical and thermal behavior. Hence, to achieve improvement of the starch-kaolinite interface with sufficient interactions points, an enhance dispersion of Kaolinite within cassava starch matrix most be achieved. That is why, the use of DMSO-Kaolinite seems to be of interest.
