Why is it important?

This study is very important and timely in the sense that it is the first to investigate workplace violence against nurses in Ghana. Taking into account that there is a considerable amount of violence against women in Ghana, and studies from other countries have reported high levels of violence against their nurses, it was appropriate that the Ghanaian situation is assessed. The study is also unique in the sense that it established a relationship between these forms of violence and nurses intention to quit the nursing profession.
