Why is it important?
Although standard FE packages are commonly used in geotechnical practice, the installation effects are not considered in the analyses. ‘Press-Replace’ (PR) technique proposed in this paper can be considered as a practical solution to simulate the installation process, which can be used in a standard FE program by relatively simple adjustments.
